Battle of Surigao Strait
This historic battle during World War II paved the way for General Douglas MacArthur to fulfil his promise to the Filipino people to return and liberate them from the Japanese Imperial Army.

Campintac Black Beach
Location: Loreto, Dinagat Islands
It served as a strategic area where U.S. Liberators landed and fought against the Japanese Imperial Army. It is located a few miles from the island is Surigao Strait - the historical landmark where hundreds of Japanese Naval Ships sank due to massive bombardments by the U.S. Air Force during World War II.

Sinaongag Landmark
Location: Tubajon, Dinagat Islands
It s the point where the last stand of the Japanese Imperial Army against Filipino Local Guerillas was made.

Religious

PBMA Shrine
Location: San Jose, Dinagat Islands
A holy place for all Philippine Benevolent Missionaries Association (PBMA) members. This is where the body of the founder, Ruben E. Ecleo, Sr. was laid to rest. The shrine serves as the main destination of local and foreign tourists of the municipality. Established in 1987, this unique and historical landmark boasts of 7 man-made drinking dams formed into different shapes such as e.g. Guitar Stage, Sala, and Garage. In the vicinity we can marvel at the Guitar Healing Pool, Garden Stairs, a Comet House and a Mini Forest that maintains the coolness of the surrounding view of the mountains and islands.

Bugkosan sa Isla (Dinaagatan Festival)
Place: Dinagat Islands
Date: First week of December
It is a weeklong celebration to observe the chartering of the province. It aims to promote the mixed cultures but rich of socio-cultural diversity and history of the province. Activities include sportsfest, agro-industrial fair, food fest, street dance competition, and other cultural activities.

Campintac Historical Allied Forces Landing
Place: Loreto, Dinagat Islands
Date: October 17
Locals commemorate the historic Battle of Surigao Strait. Loreto served as the entry point of Gen. MacArthur and the rest of the US Liberation Team towards Leyte to fulfill his promise to the Filipino people.

By Air-Land:
Take a flight from Manila to Butuan City or from Cebu City to Siargao Island. From there, buses are available headed to Dinagat Islands.
