Royal Honeymoon will be in Seychelles
16 May 2011

Seychelles or the Republic of Seychelles will be the honeymoon destination for newlyweds Duke William and Duchess Catherine.

Seychelles is “an island country spanning an archipelago of 115 islands in the Indian Ocean, some 1500 kilometers east of mainland Africa, northeast of Madagascar”. A luxury villa on an island in Seychelles is where the couple would celebrate their delayed honeymoon. They will reportedly spend ten days at 4000 pounds a night on the island.

A main consideration for choice of honeymoon location is privacy for the couple. The Duke's protection officers have already assessed the top-secret location and found it suitable for the required safety and privacy of the couple.

The luxury wooden villa has an open-air bathroom, a private garden, a freshwater rock pool and a personal butler and chef. A private jet will take them from the main island to the undisclosed location. The royal family was reportedly prepared to take legal action necessary to prevent media intrusions to the honeymoon trip.

The new Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will celebrate their honeymoon later this month. William was forced to split his leave for the wedding and the honeymoon due to his work as a search and rescue pilot in the Royal Air Force station in Angsley.
