Last July 12-15, Kagayanons excitedly gathered at the rotonda
of Limketkai Mall to witness a grand wedding occasion -
the union of 40 premiere wedding suppliers of Cagayan de
Oro to celebrate and promote Kasalan sa Kagay-an wedding
fair.
Fr. Gil Escalante of San Lorenzo Filipino Chinese Community
officiated the thanksgiving mass and blessed the different
creative wedding setups of the event.One of the known local
restaurants, Bigby's, catered for the 'reception' and had
guests sampled famous local delicacies like sinuglaw while
being serenaded by Fusion Talents.

The smell of rich, luscious chocolate from the giant choco
fountain of local wedding cake supplier Dicky Go enticed
fair goers on the second day. To-be weds were invited to
free tasting while brides-to-be were given free make over
by the experts at Ever Bilena.
The Ever Bilena bridal make up contest filled the afternoon
with much anticipation. 10 local make up artists competed
for the title.Freelance make up artist Thessa Sacal and
Susan Bacala of Tina’s Beauty and Body Skin Care Clinic
got the consolation prizes while freelance make up artist
Jie-Jie Aisa bagged the best bridal make up award.

The third day was dedicated to helping couples prepare
for their new home. Arct. Awing Maagad gave tips on “How
to Choose Your First Home” while Mr. Hans Baang, who
studied at New England Culinary Institute, shared with couples
“How to Cook for Two”. Atty. Joana Llagas from
the Provincial Prosecutor Office, on the other hand, discussed
the “Legalities of Marriage”.
The fourth and last day welcomed guest speaker known event
stylist Henry Pascual, where he demonstrated the art of
floral and event styling to Kagayanons. A very special wedding
fashion show by the established fashion designers of Cagayan
de Oro, directed by Eric Cruz, capped the 4-day event.

Kasalan sa Kagay-an, the 5th leg
of Kasalang Filipino nationwide wedding fair roadshow, is organized

Kasalang Filipino is a nationwide
